The successful candidate should be skilled in cell culture optimization for protein production, in transfection methods, in cell line selection, and in downstream processing.Your responsibilities include (but are not limited to)- Carry out large scale transient transfections.- Optimize protein expression in shake flasks and in wave bioreactors.- Perform medium scale cell culture for protein production (up to 100L).- Do cell culture media optimization.- Carry out downstream processing, including harvest and concentration.- Purify and characterize proteins and antibodies produced.This position is within the Biologics Center of NIBR (NBC) but also involves close interaction with scientists in Development (Novartis Biologics Unit, NBx), and with Disease Area departments, both in Cambridge and with other Novartis research sites world-wide.

Our office in Honolulu, Hawaii is seeking a project manager, environmental scientist, geologist, or environmental engineer to manage medium and large DOD's RIs and environmental projects and provide project support including project management, report writing, client service, and geologic interpretation in Guam and Hawaii. The candidate should be able to manage projects or assist with project management, field work planning, field management, and report preparation. Candidates should be able to coordinate or assist project managers communicate with clients and regulators. Hawaii and Guam experience preferred. The qualified candidate must have 10 -15 years experience in environmental science , geology, hydrology, site investigation, environmental consulting, and be experienced with RCRA and CERCLA response actions and project management. Knowledgeable of laboratory analytical methods, data quality objectives, data presentation, project management, and in possession of excellent writing skills.
