CSSI Inc., a Prime Contractor to the FAA, DoD and NASA, is in need of a Computer Scientist to work with us on a large FAA NexGen program.

Provide assessments regarding current, state-of-the-art and industrial trends in the computer field.  Design and implement computer algorithms, and review existing legacy code systems considering current "best business" practices of computer  science.

Academic/Experience:

* BS + 10 years experience in a technical field.

* Computer Science major, MS, and Ph.D each can substitute for 2 years.

* 5+ years Java application architecture, design, and development.

Desired (not required):

* Experience using Spring Framework with ORM frameworks like Hibernate, batch processing, Monte Carlo simulation, discrete event simulation, JNI, C++, CSIM, Apache Maven.

* Familiarity with aviation and air traffic control subject matter.

Senior Systems Engineer with experience related to Commercial Aircraft Avionics Systems and the ability to conduct comprehensive system-wide review and analysis of the avionics equipment aspects of the National Airspace System (NAS) development life cycle, with particularly emphasis on ground and airborne equipment employed in the Air Traffic Control (ATC) system, including ATC automation, air-ground communications, navigation and surveillance.  Provide expertise in the transition of legacy avionics systems to modernized systems. Interface with aviation community through industry/ government committees to identify and analyze avionics interoperability challenges. Assist in the development of equipage strategies across the commercial, business, general aviation and military communities that accommodate current equipage while providing a pathway to incorporate emerging technologies.  Analyze system architectures and interfaces in the context of technology readiness levels to help define operational and system evolution.  Provide analysis and recommendations of system risks and necessary improvements or mitigation strategies.  Define the trends in evolving avionics and determine how to leverage those changes to meet NextGen technology requirements.  Develop an equipage investment strategy.

Qualifications:

This position requires knowledge of aircraft and avionics systems to include a wide range of avionics experience related to airborne and ground communication, navigation and surveillance technologies.  Commercial avionics design, manufacturing, interface standards, installation, regulations and certification. Knowledge and understanding of avionics integration processes and requirements. Knowledge of commercial aircraft avionics subsystem functionality.  Experience working on project technical planning and analysis.  Systems knowledge of air to ground systems, communications and flight processes.  Knowledge of the air traffic system environment (tower, terminal, en-route) and FAA operations.  Understanding of airlines, aviation, and aviation infrastructure is desired.  Previous experience working with government contracting and project implementation.
 

Additional Requirements: 

A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, or other suitable engineering discipline and 25+ years of related experience. 

Domestic and International travel may be required.  Experience in using the following tools is desirable: MS Office, Access, and Project Scheduler along with excellent written and oral communications. 

The ideal candidate should be highly motivated and have the ability to work independently as well as perform as a technical team leader or member.  Preference will be given to those candidates who Possess or have held an FAA Systems and Equipment DER (Designated Engineering Representative) authorization.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing Tier II operational support for Windstream’s broadband customers. The position will generally interface via phone and trouble ticketing systems with Windstream technicians and front-line technical service representatives. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of data networking, particularly experience with ATM, ADSL, and/or IP networks is desired. Good customer service skills are a necessary component of the job. The Lithotripsy Unit at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center is a full-service stone treatment center. The unit features three suites, each with state-of-the-art equipment. In order to remain at the forefront of stone treatment, we regularly add new equipment and enhance our urology procedures. We provide stone treatment for patients of all ages.

The Lithotripsy team comprises registered nurses, an instrument processor and a secretary. Nurses in Lithotripsy are skilled in all phases of the process, from admission through post-anesthesia care unit. All are ACLS certified, most have their PALS, and many have advanced certification in stone treatment. The Lithotripsy Unit provides a single source for comprehensive stone treatment, and staff are dedicated to achieving the highest level of patient satisfaction.
