Position Highlights:

 Responsible for executing supply base improvement strategy for assigned business units.  Improves supplier quality towards zero defect and productivity by prevention and continuously improving suppliers' internal processes.  Participates in supplier selection process.  Manages the maintenance of ISO9001 certification for Universal.

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

 Drives supplier quality process improvements to meet business unit quality goals.Measures and drives supplier performance on quality and delivery to meet business unit goals.Drives communication with supplier to improve producibility and process capability of supplied goods.Participates in the engineering change process with suppliers to ensure revision control and manufacturing integrity of goods shipped to assigned business unit.Conducts supplier quality system auditsFully understands, interprets, and audits to ISO9001:2008 Management System Standard.Leads team with Purchasing, Engineering, Plants, and Supplier on root cause analysis of current quality issues. Assists with supplier First Article submission, tracking, and reporting.Reviews FEMCA, Control Plan, and other manufacturing processes related to quality documentation.Supports TopX, MRB, SCAR, CSD, Cost Reduction and other corporate initiatives including DPM reduction and Supplier Scorecard monitoring.Actively participates in new product introductions through the use of quality planning tools like APQP and PPAP.Maintains a constant awareness and understanding of supplier capabilities and customer needs, both internal and external.Provides technical guidance to internal customers in specific areas of expertise.Develops new business unit related procedures as necessary.Performs other job-related duties as required. Minimum Requirements: BS in a technical (ME, EE, IE, etc.) discipline.  Broad manufacturing knowledge or experience in a cross-functional manufacturing background.  Demonstrated ability to drive results in a team environment.  Professional written and oral communication skills.  Lead Auditor certification and experience with ISO9001 certification and maintenance.  Effective problem solving, closed loop corrective action, and advanced quality planning tools.  Strong abilities in mechanical/electromechanical print reading, SPC, 8D, Six Sigma DMAIC and Lean methodologies.  ASQC Certification, i.e. CQE, CQA or CRE is desirable. Conducts all supplier business with uncompromising integrity, consistent with Universal guidelines.

St. Petersburg plastics manufacturing company needs 3rd shift QA Systems Technician.  Compare measurements, form, fit and function of simple and complex parts to blueprint, specifications and general workmanship standards using documents, and knowledge of inspection techniques.  Ability to write detailed inspection reports in compliance with GMP standard on part and products.Hours are 11:30 pm - 8 am; Monday - Friday.  Must be able to work Saturdays, if needed.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management,direction and coordination of all quality activities as well as ensuring that the highest quality standards are harmonized across the Lakewood, NJ and Milan, Italy.


Responsibilities:


 Establish and Define quality processes and procedures that ensure compliance with national and international standards and legislation


Managing and developing quality personnel; ensuring the effective integration of quality personnel into in-process inspection in support of the value stream structure


Submits and administers budget and and assures performance standard are achieved


Liaison with domestic and international customers and vendors to ensure compliance with standards and execution of corrective actions


Drive continuous improvement efforts to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and provide quality customer service

Perform complex electro-mechanical assembly work and alignment on diversified sub-assemblies, including troubleshooting and rework
Strong communication skills with engineers and other Departments
Work with minimal supervision
Participates in maintaining and improving process and output
Able to effectively multi-task and handle a wide variety of tasks

Use of small hand tools to strip, bend, fasten and connect parts, tasks require a high level of skill with a variety of hand tools and precision measuring equipment
Use of power meters, light source, calibration tools
Perform optical-mechanical alignment, correct alignment of optics components
Perform complex electro-mechanical assembly work, including troubleshooting and rework
Must understand the functional operation of the items assembled as well as the finished product
Must be able to work from complex and detailed manufacturing documentation and follow both written and verbal instructions
Test systems at various steps in the manufacturing process to meet product specifications
Updates production records and test results, communicates clearly with engineers to identify non-conformances
Technicians are responsible for some quality activities, including inspection
Participate in maintaining and improving process and output
