SCA Tissue North America is seeking a Paper Mill Operations Manager to provide overall leadership and direction to our paper mill operations in Barton, AL. Reporting to the Regional Director, the Paper Mill Operations Manager will be responsible for maximizing profitability and achieving the short and long range goals of the facility and company utilizing a high-performance work environment.
 

Main Tasks
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Provide a safe mill environment for all employees and comply with all governmental safety, health, and environmental regulations
Continuously improve safety performance and housekeeping practices
Maintain assigned assets in order to achieve targeted production levels and unit costs, including the development and implementation of effective maintenance systems and programs
Promote active involvement of employees in variance management, change processes and continuous improvement initiatives
Coordinate the development of area operating and capital budgets
Execute activities to meet budgetary constraints
Promote the on-going development of the team based work system on an individual and department-wide basis

 

Key Competencies
Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Paper Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
Minimum 15 years tissue making experience
Prior experience leading in a high performance environment is preferred
Previous experience setting goals, evaluating performance, and coaching for success at various levels within the operations environment
General knowledge of personnel practices and labor agreements
General knowledge of environmental regulations
Strong ability to communicate effectively both on a verbal and written basis

Responsibilities in the Technical Support role will include but are not limited to: troubleshooting and programming PLC's (prefer Allen Bradley and Giddings & Lewis PLC’s); performing general machine and preventative maintenance as needed; troubleshooting controls wiring, repairing single and three-phase electrical and mechanical equipment; welding, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical troubleshooting; and reading electrical, pneumatic and hydraulics schematics
  
BBasic Qualifications:  
·     Associate's Degree in Industrial Electronics Technology
·     Minimum of three years of electrical and mechanical experience in an industrial environment
·     Must be available to work any shift
·     Weekends, holidays, and overtime hours will be required
·         Must be a team player by mentoring and training others in PLC and Controls wiring and electrical codes and working as a team member on machine rebuild projects.
  
 Knowledge-Skills-Abilities:
