About the Center:
The San Fernando Valley Community Mental Health Center, Inc. founded in 1970, is a private, non-profit agency dedicated to improving the mental health of individuals and families within the community. Primary emphasis is placed on providing services to children, adolescents and transitional age youth with serious emotional disorders, and services for adults and older adults with severe and persistent mental illness. The Center is committed to treating all consumers with dignity and enhancing their quality of life.
About the Program:
Juvenile Justice Outpatient Services provide mental health services to juvenile probationers and youth at risk of gang involvement.
About the Position:
Full Time Therapist to provide individual and group therapy in Probation Camp setting.
Responsible for documentation including Intake Assessments, Units of Service Log sheets, progress notes, and additional documentation as necessary to meet Center and DMH requirements.
Provide case management and linkage with families to assist with improved family functioning.
Collaborate with Probation Camp staff to develop appropriate discharge plan and after care recommendations to support clients in the transition from camp to their home or new placement.
Develop interventions that target challenges presented by multiple systems (school, peers, community, family, and individual).
Assist with Crisis Intervention as needed, including being available to families.
Participate in weekly staff meetings and individual and group supervision sessions.
Any other duties as pertinent to job and as assigned.
